Monday Music Mix: Flamenco Sketches

I don't know why Miles Davis's Flamenco Sketches always reminds me of rainy days. I thought of this recording this weekend because of the rain--I sometimes enjoy rainy days (from the inside). It brings about a contemplative relaxation, and its just another excuse to enjoy Flamenco Sketches...I've always thought of this piece as, in its nature, "kind of blue," in the way that it can make you marvel at the rain from your window pane and connect the music with nature's way of slowing us down.

Hope you all took some time to slow down this weekend -- if not, take a few minutes to slow down now :-)

Love Miles. Love "Kind of Blue", and I adore this record as well. You can almost hear rainfall in the background, I think that's why it takes your mind there...

Great post Sophia :)

I love, love, LOVE Miles Davis and "Kind of Blue". I really like this track, but my absolute fave on this album is "Blue in Green." It's so funny how there can be so much emotion in music that has no words!

There it is--soft rain drops. Thanks for opening my ears :-)

@Rebecca
Another great one...The whole album is divine. Sound is all the emotion we need.
